OUR STORY
This business was birthed because of needing an outlet to support my husband & I moving overseas. Though our heart and dream is to live internationally one day, we have decided to pause and wait, for now. I know a lot of you have supported us because of THAT dream in particular. Thank you. Our vision trip to Spain in March was partially funded from my earring sales and some of the rest has been put in a “future travels” savings account. I’ve toyed a lot with where to take my baby, bitty, biz from here. The thing is, I love it. I’ve never taken a risk like this before- I’ve mostly worked a lot of jobs that I love, but that are also comfortable and safe. This small business has launched me into trying so many new things, failing at a lot of them, but learning, growing, and challenging myself to not quit when it gets hard (because Lord knows that’s what I’ve done for over 20 years). I know it’s just jewelry, and not a meaningful change the world kind of job, but it allows me to meet new people and build relationship with them. It allows me to see the glow on someone’s face when their grandmas favorite flower, who passed away last year, is encapsulated in a pair of earrings. It allows me to create with the environment in mind- choosing eco-friendly products and organic material. It allows me to grow in new areas personally such as photography, website building, financial budgeting (although, let’s be honest, Andrew does most of that for me). My hope moving forward is to do this small thing I love and maybe find a couple people along the way who love it too. I’ll continue sales on my website, hopefully create an Etsy soon, and also be selling regularly-ish at craft fairs and maker marts. I hope this encourages someone to step out and take a risk they’ve put off for fear of failing. I have no more to say to that, because I understand how much RISK it requires to step out and there is not guaranteed outcome, but you are a strong, gifted human being. You have something wonderful to offer the world! I believe in you. Secondly, I’d love your support. Like my facebook page, or my IG page, tell your friend who is getting married next year that I do bridal jewelry, think of me when you want to buy your mom a one of a kind gift. Though the name is “the little earring shop” I am expanding far beyond and will soon be adding things like coasters, wall décor, necklaces, wine charms, and more- hopefully! Here's to taking risks, friends, let's do it together.
